The background is a melted biggie bead. Then permanent vinyl is adhered to the plastic bead once melted. The permanent vinyl should not come off. The post is attached with a high quality glue that will not come off. The post is nickel free and safe for sensitive ears. The back has a regular metal attachment.
To keep your earrings looking fresh do not store face down.
